THE HIP HOP 360 EXHIBITION AWAITS YOU AT THE PHILHARMONIE DE PARIS

The Philharmonie de Paris pays tribute to Hip Hop and its history

Rap, street art, beatmaking, beatbox, dance, DJ, fashion … La Philharmonie has left no facet of hip hop abandoned in its marvelous retrospective of the genre. The exhibition traces the arrival of hip hop in France, straight from the United States in the 1980s. We discover the installation and evolution of the genre in France through all of its disciplines. You will quickly immerse yourself in the universe of this contemporary art which completely broke the rules of music when it arrived in France 40 years earlier.

Unlimited creativity is in the spotlight on this 700 m2 discovery trail where you will read, watch and listen to hip hop without wanting to stop. You will find yourself in a circular space of 120m2 with a 360-degree vision that allows a real immersion in the world of hip hop, thanks to unpublished images of concerts or break dance performances.

This interactive exhibition will give you the opportunity to listen to testimonials from Kerry James, Mc Solaar, Infinit ‘and many others … but also to listen to mixtapes of the legendary IAM in the 1990s in Booba in the early 2000s. hip hop is more than music, it’s a culture in its own right. Also stop in front of a reproduction of the clothing and accessories store of Ticaret, opened in 1986 in the district of Chateau Landon in Paris and which saw the birth of this street culture thanks to its fashion and its mural art.
